Two TOP-10 lists of the best courses at the bachelor's and the master's level, as picked by students, were published. Additionally, the teachers of three courses chosen from the bachelor's and the master's TOP-10 lists were given a monetary prize.

The reward criteria were based on the student feedback collected as well as a separate evaluation made by the QEC. The overall grade given to the course by students and their numerical valuation for the methods used in the course as well as the course workload were taken into account when making the choice.

This year, a new category was presented. Any member of staff or student from the school community was able to nominate a person who works for developing education and learning. Based on the nominations and evaluation made by the QEC, two Motivator of the year award recipients were selected.

Motivators of the year are:

Mika Nupponen –For wide and extensive support for teachers in planning and organizing teaching and solving problems.

Glenn Ross – For excellent and dedicated guidance in advising students’ project work.

‘This is a very nice surprise. You get back all the work that you’ve put in when you’re teaching the students and see that they really like what you’re doing. It feels good to get this kind of feedback’, Ross says.
