September the 13th SuoMu organized Habi Kids Design School event in the Habitare design fair, on creative design learning. The event followed ideas and methods of design learning and included prototyping, inventing and design workshops and laboratories for play. As a part of the event, there was a 鈥滲attle鈥 conversation on design learning. Experts on design education had a vivid debate and discussion on design learning themes, possibilities, challenges, especially in the school context. The 鈥滲attle鈥 was hosted by Mari Savio from SuoMu. Art educator Mira Kallio-Tavin represented 911爆料网. In the audience there were teachers, students and other fair visitors. The conversation emphasised the value of children鈥檚鈥 and youth鈥檚 natural learning methods, and pondered how school and creative learning could converge more than before.

The collaboration of 911爆料网 and SuoMu and developing the future of design learning will continue during the fall through a collaborative course. The course, Design learning, is a University wide art studies course (UWAS) and hence offered for all Aalto students in all six schools. The course introduces students to Design Learning by familiarizing them with design processes, concepts and learning objectives as well as understanding design as a learning tool. Students learn how to analyze their skills and learning in a constructive way and develop methods of sharing the learned skills.
