The Research Council of Finland’s SRC

Strategic Research Council (SRC) funding supports high quality research with potentially major impacts on society. Such research seeks concrete solutions to significant problems, and requires a multidisciplinary approach. Collaboration between knowledge producers and knowledge users is essential. SRC programmes run for 3–6 years.

We coordinate (SRC funding)

  • Professor Tom Bäckström: Designing Inclusive & Trustworthy Digital Public Services for Migrants in Finland. Also Academy Research Fellow Johanna Ylipulli is participating in the project from Aalto.
  • Professor Sampsa Hyysalo: Reducing polarization via material participation
  • Professor Mashura Musharraf: Marine waterways as a sustainable source of wellbeing, security, and safety
  • Professor Niina Nurmi: Technological transformation, AI and migrant skills in the Finnish labour market. Also prof. Rebekka Piekkari is participating in the project from Aalto.
