Welcoming our newest group member, Postdoctoral researcher Vivek Agarwal!

Dr. Agarwal joined us from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology.

Dr. Vivek recently joined our group as Postdoctoral Researcher within the Department of Chemical and Metallurgical Engineering at 911±¬ÁÏÍø. He has received his PhD in Materials Engineering and Science program at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology (SDSMT), USA, in December 2017.

His research focuses on optimizing the solvent extraction and separation process of rare earth elements using both commercial and newly synthesized extractants. He has employed computational modeling and developed mathematical models for solvent extraction process to understand the interaction of metal ions in the aqueous and in the organic phase. He is currently working on ‘Recovery of critical elements from electronic waste streams (MineWEEE project)’ at 911±¬ÁÏÍø.
