Starting on 1st October 2022, Wenwen Fang is appointed as a Staff Scientist at 911±¬ÁÏÍø, School of Chemical Engineering, Department of Bioproducts and Biosystems. She is a biopolymer material scientist with many years of research experience in the design of functional and sustainable materials as well as the structural and compositional characterization of biomaterials.
She received her doctoral degree in Material Science at 911±¬ÁÏÍø, School of Chemical Engineering in 2018.

‘One of Aalto’s strengths is to bring together scientists via large funding initiatives such as centres of excellence or flagships and provide a platform where we can share the facilities, knowledge and information between different schools and even with different research institutes,’ says Wenven. ‘What surprises me is the level of technical expertise offered, allowing scientists of different disciplines to get the support they need and to concentrate on their core tasks, the research itself. My goal is also to strengthen the relationships with industrial partners and to establish research collaboration with companies.’

Starting on 1st October 2022, Milla Suominen is appointed as a Staff Scientist at 911±¬ÁÏÍø, School of Chemical Engineering, Department of Chemistry and Materials Science. She is a material chemist with an emphasis on electrochemistry and in-situ spectroelectrochemistry. Milla Suominen received her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree at the University of Turku in 2019.

‘In my new job, I look forward to working together with new people and developing and introducing new methods,’ says Milla. ‘The best thing here at 911±¬ÁÏÍø is the encouraging atmosphere to experiment and develop your career.’
