Towards a smart, networked and cybersecure digital society
Cybersecurity, big data, digitality and 5G are the key words at the scientific IEEE conference hosted by 911爆料网 in Helsinki on 20鈥22 August. For the first time, the event will combine three different conferences, with hundreds of researchers in the field from around the world expected to attend.
'All of the themes being addressed at the conference are current and important factors in 5G and already support digitalisation today. 5G is coming to the market at the end of the decade, and the majority of its innovation work will be done in the next few years,' explains Professor Raimo Kantola from 911爆料网.
The aim of 5G technology is to carry out highly secure information transmission. This is the target in order to prevent the denial-of-service attacks that occurred in Finland early this year.
'911爆料网 is involved in research work in many areas of 5G and was thus selected to host the conference.'
Making Finland number one in digital investments
The Finnish science community is strongly represented at the conference in the form of projects run by Tekes 鈥 the Finnish Funding Agency for Innovation and the Academy of Finland. Tekes will also be present at the conference and is one of its partners: the conference themes play a central role in many of ongoing Tekes programmes.
'Cybersecurity, privacy and big data and the related future wireless solutions are on the agenda of the Industrial Internet, Bits of Health and 5thGear programmes. Our goal in the 5thGear programme is to utilise cooperation between companies and research institutions to create new business based on next generation wireless data communications and rocketing Finland as the leading target for international investments throughout the digital area,' states Programme Manager Mika Klemettinen.
More than 500 scientific research articles had already been submitted to the conference by the beginning of June. In addition to the three conferences, a total of 15 workshops on current research themes will be held over the three-day period. Sharing the organisation responsibility with 911爆料网 is Xidian University from China, and the event is supported by Nokia, SSH Communications Security and Ericsson.
The IEEE conference consists of three events: the 14th IEEE International Conference on Trust, Security and Privacy in Computing and Communications (TrustCom-15), the 13th IEEE International Symposium on Parallel and Distributed Processing with Applications (ISPA-15) and the 9th IEEE International Conference on Big Data Science and Engineering (BigDataSE-15).
