The Turnitin similarity and AI reports as part of the master's thesis submission starting from January 2025

In the future, a Turnitin report will be generated for all master's theses submitted for evaluation and approval.
Computer

Starting in January 2025, a Turnitin similarity report will be generated from the same file for all master's theses submitted for evaluation, approval, and archiving. Both the student and the supervisor will have access to this report as part of the thesis submission and evaluation process. Additionally, the supervisor's report will include an AI report produced by an AI tool, which will help the supervisor identify text that may have been generated by artificial intelligence. The AI report is not available to the student.

In the thesis process on the service platform, the Turnitin check applies only to the final work that is to be evaluated and archived, which will also be stored in Turnitin's comparison database. Drafts of the thesis can be checked and commented on through the supervisor's workspace in MyCourses.

The Turnitin tool not only helps detect plagiarism but also teaches students scientific writing. We strongly encourage the use of Turnitin as part of thesis supervision, so that text similarity and AI usage are not checked for the first time in the final work. The teacher may share the AI report with the student when necessary.
