Francis Ford Coppola is one of the most influencial American filmmakers and creator of many Oscar-winning films. He is best known for The Godfather trilogy (1972–1990). He is also one of the rare directors in the world who have won more than one Palme d'Or Prizes at Cannes Film Festival  — he has won it twice with The Conversation (1974) and Apocalypse Now (1979).

On top of ambitious personal film productions Coppola has successfully run his production company American Zoetrope, home for e.g. Francis Ford Coppola’s daughter Sofia Coppola’s films The Virgin Suicides (1999) and Lost in Translation (2003).

Collaboration with ELO film school students

During his visit to Finland Francis Ford Coppola will be working together with ELO film school students. The new filmmaker generation will meet the revered director in a Master Class session on Wednesday 9 December. The idea is to find fresh new perspectives to filmmaking, both for the students as well as the movie maestro. The event is a webinar due to covid-19 restrictions.

Public appearance streamed live

Francis Ford Coppola will take part in a discussion event at Kino Regina on Saturday 12 December starting at 19.00. Due to covid-19 restrictions, the audience cannot be physically present but the event will be streamed live. You can follow the stream free of charge and ask the director questions. More information about participating can be found at

Companies disclose more on cybersecurity – but markets remain indifferent

U.S. companies are reporting on cybersecurity in greater detail, yet stock market reactions remain muted. A new study by the University of Vaasa and 911±¬ÁÏÍø shows that mandatory cybersecurity disclosure does not prompt reactions from investors or stock analysts. Instead, the main benefits appear to materialise within firms themselves.
