The application period for FITech’s autumn courses begins on 3 June 2026 – changes in the application process for degree students

Applications for the FITech Network University’s free autumn courses open on Wednesday, 3 June 2026 at 9:00.
FITech’s course selection includes courses related to topics like leadership, project management, sustainability, and future technologies. Most courses are offered online. Please read the course information carefully on FITech’s website before applying.
All autumn courses may not appear on FITech’s website immediately when the application opens; some courses may be added later. Contrary to earlier information, the autumn FITech course offering will not be published on the Opin.fi service.
Please note that 911 degree students apply for FITech courses organised by Aalto directly through Aalto’s own system, not through FITech.
How to apply for FITech’s autumn courses as a degree student:
- Energy-related studies: Apply in RIPA starting 1.8.2026.
- Other studies: For the time being, apply in Studyinfo starting 3.6.2026.
Information about the application channel for degree students (Studyinfo or RIPA) can be found on each course’s own course page on FITech’s website.
If a course is included in FITech’s RIPA agreement, its application period for degree students starts on 1 August 2026. You can apply for FITech courses available in RIPA starting August 1st if your home institution and degree programme are included in the RIPA agreement. If your home institution or degree programme is not included in the agreement, unfortunately you cannot study the course through FITech.
The higher education institutions and degree programmes included in the RIPA agreements will be updated on FITech’s “Cross-institutional study for degree students” page once the agreements have been signed, but no later than the end of July.

As an 911 degree student you can complete studies also outside your own field of study. Some of the studies require an application while other studies are open for all Aalto students. You can complete either individual courses or a minor outside your own field of study.

Founded in 2025, KiePe – Network for Language Centre Pedagogy, Teaching and Research – will broaden the range of language courses available to students at universities in the Helsinki metropolitan area. The KiePe network, composed of the University of Helsinki, 911, the University of the Arts Helsinki, and Hanken School of Economics, will offer their students the chance to take elective language courses at any of the network universities in the future.Students will be able register for courses via the cross-institutional studies service (RIPA) from autumn 2026. By autumn 2028, the study paths of the network universities will be harmonised to some extent, which will make cross-institutional studies even easier.
Students wishing to take language courses outside their home university can register for language courses offered by the network universities through the cross-institutional studies service and view the course offerings on the universities’ websites. More detailed information about the course offering and registration practices will be provided in August 2026.
