Students of photography showcased at the CHART Nordic contemporary art fair
CHART art fair, the biggest Nordic contemporary art fair, is organized for the 5th time in the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen from 1st to 3rd September 2017. As a part of the fair, Gallery Taik Persons presents works from lecturer Niko Luoma and Aalto student Anna Reivil盲.
鈥淚 search spaces where nature鈥檚 elements combine to create interesting natural tensions. Using ropes as lines is my form of drawing. The lines create interactions, making connections between the elements鈥攁 reinterpretation of the landscape鈥, Anna Reivil盲 describes her works.
Niko Luoma鈥檚 abstract pieces draw focus to the intrinsic qualities of the photographic medium. 鈥淭hrough a calculated, analogue technique of exposing a single negative to lines of light, hundreds or even thousands of times, the finished works reflect the system by which they were created鈥, he tells.
Gallery Taik Persons was founded in 1995 in Helsinki and is since 2005 located in Berlin. It is the prime gallery for those selected artists who now make up what is known as the Helsinki School.
