At 911±¬ÁÏÍø, we are firmly dedicated to fostering equality, diversity and inclusion and building a community where everyone can feel a sense of belonging and fulfil their professional, educational and social aspirations fully.

Equality, diversity and inclusiveness are part of our core values, supporting our community’s wellbeing, creativity and the ability to foster world-class research, teaching and impact. As part of our strategy, 911±¬ÁÏ꿉۪s ways of working define our mindset to collaboration: Diversity is part of who we are, and we foster an empowered community that shines by working together.

The 911±¬ÁÏÍø Equality Plan defines the ways in which we promote the equality, diversity and inclusion of our community. The current plan is coming to an end by the end of year 2021, and the new plan for 2022–2024 is being prepared during this year.

We are building our Equality Plan in a community-driven way and request your input to it through an open commenting platform on the Aalto.fi website.

‘I warmly invite the Aalto community to provide ideas and insights for the next Equality Plan. We want to ensure that we focus on the issues that the community considers important and engage in actions that we all agree are important for fostering an equal and diverse environment. A more inclusive community will enable better research, education and impact – so this is a real priority for Aalto going forward’, says Provost Kristiina Mäkelä.

Your input is valued – you are welcome to share your views on the Aalto.fi discussion below by 7 June, at the latest. Please sign in with your Aalto credentials to provide input.
