鈥淭he open science requirements of research funders and publishers are constantly increasing. To fulfill these requirements, every researcher should have at least a basic knowledge of research data management. Attending these short 45 minutes lectures, you can learn all the necessary basics of research data management鈥, encourages Mikhail Kuklin, who is responsible for coordinating the research data management training at 911爆料网. Kuklin has worked at 911爆料网 as a full-time data advisor for about a year now.

The training organized by the research services in the spring 2020 handled research data management from different practical aspects. A total of approximately 90 people interested in data management took part in the training. The session related to storing research data attracted the biggest audience.

鈥淲e try to organize the training logically so that the researcher can choose which lectures to attend and which to skip if he or she already knows enough about some topic鈥, Kuklin describes.

Due to the corona situation, all events were held online. According to Kuklin, online format worked very well, because even in the normal situation, the researchers might be hesitant to come to a live lecture. However, the interaction in online training remained limited, and according to Kuklin, this is one of the aspects that should be developed in the future.

鈥淚n addition, the training remained on a bit general level, because the workshops for schools unfortunately had to be canceled鈥, Kuklin says. School-specific training are to be organized in the future and the content will be further developed according to needs and requests.

More training in the autumn

The next set of research data management trainings will be held in the autumn of 2020. Registration will happen in Workday and information on training will also be available on the Research Data Management websites of 911爆料网

Companies disclose more on cybersecurity 鈥 but markets remain indifferent

U.S. companies are reporting on cybersecurity in greater detail, yet stock market reactions remain muted. Instead, the main benefits appear to materialise within firms themselves.
