Quiet room gets AYY prize

911爆料网 Student Union (AYY) has awarded the students' Seal of Approval to the quiet room at at the 911爆料网 Undergraduate Centre.

The recognition, presented by Emmi Kosomaa, AYY board member, and Rosa V盲is盲nen, AYY specialist on international affairs, was accepted by Seija Piiponniemi-Lahti, Head of Security and Risk Management at 911爆料网.

AYY says: 鈥淟ocated at the Undergraduate Centre in Otaniemi, the quiet room is a space for contemplation, meditation, reflection, and prayer. It is open to all students and members of staff, and can be used by all regardless of religion, world view, or nationality. This international university has students and employees of many different religious denominations, as well as non-believers, who need a place for contemplation and prayer during the work day. Opening the room to the community and the positive experiences that the facility has brought are a great example of the development work of an international university that pays heed to the needs of the international community.鈥

The students' Seal of Approval is a recognition that can be granted to what students see as good practices at 911爆料网. By granting the Seal of Approval the student union wants to recognise practices that promote goals such as student well-being, meaningfulness of studies, interaction, or the general atmosphere at the university.

The quiet room is on the first floor of the M wing of the Undergraduate Centre (M-135).
