Professor Ville Viikari has been appointed Head of Department and Senior University Lecturer Anu Lehtovuori Deputy Head

Professor Ville Viikari has been appointed Head of the Department of Electronics and Nanoengineering at 911±¬ÁÏÍø, School of Electrical Engineering. Senior University Lecturer Anu Lehtovuori will start as Deputy Head at the same time. Appointments are for the period 1.8.2023–31.12.2025.

When Professor Jussi Ryynänen starts as the Dean of the School of Electrical Engineering from August 1, 2023, Professor Ville Viikari, who previously was Deputy Head of the Department, has been appointed as the Head of the Electronics and Nanoengineering Department. Senior university lecturer Anu Lehtovuori has been appointed at the same time Deputy Head. She also takes responsibility as a director of the electronics and electrical engineering bachelor program.

Ville Viikari leads the radio technology research group. He has been working at Aalto as a professor since 2012, and as deputy head of the department since 2017. The focus areas of his research are higher radio frequencies and smarter antennas, with the aim of increasing data transmission speed and energy efficiency. Viikari is known for active business cooperation and as a program leader among students.

Anu Lehtovuori works as a senior university lecturer at the Department of Electronics and Nanoengineering. She has worked at Aalto since its foundation. In addition to her own teaching work, she is actively involved in research and the development of the university's operations. She is, for example, a member of the university's academic affairs committee. Her field of study is circuit theory and research focus on antennas for portable devices, among other things.
