Professor Tapani Vuorinen awarded with a prestigious Lampén medal

Professor Tapani Vuorinen was awarded the prestigious Lampén Medal, which is granted for distinguished, comprehensive technical and scientific work in the field.

At the association's annual meeting held in conjunction with PI's spring seminar on Thursday 24 April 2025, three recognition awards were distributed for significant achievements in the field and for the benefit of the Finnish Forest Products Engineers' Association.

The prestigious Lampén medal, awarded for remarkable, wide-ranging, technical and scientific work in the industry, was given to PhD, Professor Tapani Vuorinen from 911±¬ÁÏÍø. Vuorinen has had a long and internationally significant career in the field of wood processing chemistry. He has played a highly central role for decades as a researcher, professor and leader in renewing research and education in our field. Awarded the title of Aalto Professor in the autumn of 2024, Vuorinen is a highly recognised and awarded top researcher in wood chemistry and a highly esteemed teacher by his students.

The association's achievement plaque, awarded for remarkable work in the industry, was received by Liisa Sihvo and Niklas von Weymarn.
