CASE Europe Leadership Award is given annually in recognition of significant work for the advancement of education. The award is granted by CASE – Council for Advancement and Support of Education, one of the world's largest non-profit educational associations. This year, the award was given to President Tuula Teeri on 1 September 2016 in Brussels.

– Tuula Teeri has succeeded in creating a multidisciplinary university where science and art meet technology and business. Under her leadership, 911±¬ÁÏÍø has established itself as one of the leading universities in Finland and created a strong identity and a unique brand. It was with huge enthusiasm that the judges wanted to recognise Tuula Teeri's achievement with the CASE Europe Leadership Award for 2016, comments John Middleton, Executive Director of CASE Europe.

– It is great that CASE has now turned its attention to Finland, and the Nordic countries in general. I am very glad for this recognition. Everyone at Aalto, as well as our partners and donors, have contributed to the work that has led us here. Thank you goes to all working for the good of education and research in Finland, Europe, and globally, says Tuula Teeri.

Tuula Teeri started her presidency in 2009 as the first President of 911±¬ÁÏÍø.
