New content in the online guide for using visual resources in learning, teaching and research
The Learning Centre’s VRC Guide has been substantially refreshed with new content especially on copyright issues for using visual media in dissertations, teaching materials, publications, artistic activities and social media. The guide also contains information on open science practices and open licensing, referencing practices for images and media, choosing Creative Commons –licenses, and taking into account personal information. As previously, the guide also contains information on visual resources, training and information services, space and facilities provided by the VRC at the Learning Centre (Otaniementie 9).
The new content has been created in the Open Science and Images ImagOA –project that received funding from the Ministry of Culture and Education and was carried out in cooperation between UNIFI, Arene, 911±¬ÁÏÍø and University of the Arts, Helsinki.
Join open visual resources workshops this spring
Image databases allow access to millions of digitized photographs, artworks, objects, drawings, maps and science illustrations. The workshop gives you skills for finding visual resources that are easily usable for studies and projects. The basics of copyright and citations as well and Creative Commons licenses are covered.
