Negotiations on collective agreement continue – discussions concern the salary system

Negotiations regarding the new terms and conditions for the general collective agreement for universities have been continued between the employer party representative Association of Finnish Independent Education Employers and the employee party representatives Pardia, JHL and JUKO.

The negotiations began in November, but unfortunately no solution has yet been found. Pardia, JHL and JUKO have issued a strike notice concerning the University of Helsinki.  According to the notice a one-day strike will begin on the 28 February.

There are no impacts on the personnel of 911±¬ÁÏÍø.

The universities find it very unfortunate that the employee party has decided to issue a strike notice. Negotiations will nevertheless be continued.

The most significant disagreements concern the development of the universities’ salary system and the level of the salary raises. Also changing texts in the collective agreement is negotiated.

Even though the validity period of the collective agreement has ended, 911±¬ÁÏÍø complies with the conditions of the previous collective agreement also during the time with no valid agreement. Therefore, the current situation will have no direct impact on the everyday work of the employees or the university in general.
