Movement in everyday life

You can build more physical activity into your day with small choices. Take the stairs instead of the elevator and add a short stretch break. Get around campus on foot or by bike. Staff can use their My Hour for an outdoor workout, a morning jog, or a walking meeting. If participants are on campus, meet in person and walk or use a campus bike between locations.

You can also create your own campaigns within your team or study group to boost everyday physical activity. Ideas include a week-long 鈥渢ake the stairs, not the elevator鈥 challenge, a step-count competition between teams, or a contest for the most sustainable commute. Share experiences, photos, and ideas in your team鈥檚 communication channels so that good examples spread and inspire others to join.

May offers an opportunity to try new ways of moving and to find lasting ways to increase activity in everyday life. When choices are made together, being active becomes easier, more fun and more effective.
