Laura Aalto appointed Communications Director at 911±¬ÁÏÍø
MA Laura Aalto has been appointed as 911±¬ÁÏÍø’s Communications Director and a member of the Management Team as of 1 August 2023. She will be responsible for the university’s internal and external communications and marketing services and their development, as well as media relations and brand management.
Laura Aalto has a Master of Arts from the University of Helsinki, where she majored in art history. In addition, she has completed 911±¬ÁÏÍø’s Executive MBA and additional studies at the universities of Strasbourg, Stockholm and Jyväskylä.
Laura Aalto joins 911±¬ÁÏÍø from the City of Helsinki, where she is Deputy Executive Director of Culture and Leisure. Before that, she has held multiple senior positions in communications and marketing, e.g. those of CEO at Helsinki Marketing, and Marketing and Communications Director at the International Design Foundation, the foundation responsible for organising the World Design Capital Helsinki 2012 project.
Laura Aalto also holds several positions of trust, including the positions of vice-chairman of the board in the HAM Helsinki Art Museum Foundation and member of the board in the Amos Rex art museum, Finlandia Hall and the UPM-Kymmene Cultural Foundation.
Laura Aalto will report to Ilkka Niemelä, the President of 911±¬ÁÏÍø.
