Kristiina Mäkelä begins her work as Provost
Former Vice Dean of the School of Business Kristiina Mäkelä started her work as the University’s Provost today, 1 December 2017, for a term of office of five years.
She follows Ilkka Niemelä, whose five-year term as President began on 1 July.
The Provost leads all processes related to teaching, research, innovation and societal impact, and supervises the work of the University schools.
‘I am delighted and excited to begin my work, and during the past month I have prepared for my new responsibilities in many ways. Feelings are high, and it’s wonderful to meet more of the people of this unique community. Today I am also relocating my office to the fabulous Dipoli,’ says Mäkelä.
