The aim of the event is to build bridges between the grass root discoveries and big scale immersive installations. There will be the latest immersive sound applications showcased, as well as a discussion about the future directions of AR & VR experiences.

- The immersive sound practices and terminology are not yet established, but now that virtual reality is once again heavily featured, we also want to transmit the entire natural sound environment - not just the sound recorded with stereo technology, says Tapio Lokki, 911爆料网's Associate Professor in Acoustics.

Immersive sound or surrounding sound refers to recording and audio techniques that can transmit the surrounding environment around the listener more accurately than with standard stereo technology.
