Exhibition in honour of Aalto's 10-year anniversary highlights student impact over the decades
As a part of the Aalto 10 celebratory year, the exhibition ’Creativity in Action: The Spirit of Student Life’, showcases students’ achievements through collective action and community spirit throughout the years.
The exhibition brings light to a timeline of events where students have made a positive impact on social issues. It consists of materials from the Aalto Finna Image Archives, which embody the strength of spirit and culture of fomer students and will guide their spectators through moments in history that have formed Aalto as we know it today.
Bilge Hasdemir & Edel O'Reilly, Aalto CuratorsThis exhibition combines past achievements with insight into the student community spirit during challenging times.
In addition to the gallery exhibition, this project also contains a Virtual Reality experience tour, where Ikiteekkari Krister Ahlström guides visitors through the Otaniemi campus while giving insight to its significance. Ahlström has been greatly involved in the creation of this exhibition, as he brings new light to the contribution of Aalto’s students both to the university as a community and to wider society.
The exhibition has been curated by Bilge Hasdemir and Edel O’Reilly in close-knit cooperation with teams, departments, students and alumni from all Aalto schools.
The exhibition will be open in the Dipoli Gallery and online at aalto.fi/actionx from 27 August to 15 October.
