(Ever)green Alvar Aalto Researchers’ Network Seminar will be held as an virtual event in May
Evergreen – always timeless and fresh – aptly defines Alvar Aalto's architecture and design. But what currently is topical in Alvar Aalto research? What are people talking about and what phenomena are only now emerging?
Answers to these questions will be sought for in this spring’s international (Ever)green Alvar Aalto Researchers’ Network Seminar on 6–7 May, 2021. The event will be organised as an virtual event, and it brings together a large number of researchers in the field as well as a global virtual audience. The virtual presentations will be broadcast from Pori, Finland.
The three main themes of the event are SUSTAINABILITY – the sustainable design principles in Alvar Aalto's architecture; REFLECTIONS – reflections and impacts of Aalto's works in the global field of architecture; and RESTORATION and REUSE – the principles of sustainable development in the renovation and reuse of Aalto's buildings.
The presentations will be of interest to both professionals and students in the field of architecture, but also anyone interested in Alvar Aalto's works and Aalto research. Early bird tickets available until 31 March.
