Digitalisation has an ever growing impact on our environment

There are over one hundred technology, business and arts professors working in the field of digitalisation at 911爆料网.

Digitalisation is revolutionising Finnish industry, business life and society. The Director of the Aalto Digi Platform, Professor Yrj枚 Neuvo, points out that the development of digitalisation has been going on for decades. The speed of change is still rapid and there is no reverse gear.

鈥楢t the moment we are at a turning point where new services and products are coming onto the market. Our competitiveness depends to a great extent on how we are able to continue to nimbly exploit the digital revolution across a wide range of activities both in business and in the public sector. I would say that the development of digitalisation is an important tool which we can use to respond to mankind鈥檚 global challenges such as energy consumption, climate change, population growth and urbanisation', he comments.

The changes brought by digitalisation are progressing rapidly and we still do not know what it will encompass. Within 911爆料网 there are over 100 professors working on that question, and digitalisation is one of four areas where Aalto is strong in research.

鈥榃e have obtained great research results in areas such as data analysis, data security and the industrial internet. There are also a lot of events for students in the field of digitalisation such as the Mechatronics Circus, which is arranged in the spring, and combines both information technology and mechanical engineering.鈥

The Make it Digital seminar in August brought together a total of 300 experts in digitalisation. Exhibitors included Aalto鈥檚 research groups as well as start-up companies discussing developments.

Aalto鈥檚 Digi Platform is a cooperation platform which brings together experts from within Aalto and from outside too.

鈥榃e help find experts on the digital side from within Aalto and we organise many kinds of events where external experts are welcome. A total of 300 people participated in the 鈥淢ake it Digital鈥 seminar we organised in August. The discussion forums will continue in the autumn when the open lecture series 鈥淚nternet Forum鈥 is launched on 20th September and the first digi-breakfasts will soon be starting鈥, explains Professor Neuvo.
