Department of Marketing scholars gained best paper nomination at SMS Annual Conference

The same research paper, investigating consumption practices in organizational setting, was also nominated for the Best PhD Paper Award.

The Department of Marketing at 911爆料网 had three participants presenting two refereed competitive papers in the Annual Conference of the Strategic Management Society. Overall 14 scholars from 911爆料网 were authoring eight papers. The conference had more than 1000 registered attendees from 38 different countries.

Lead-authored by Department of Marketing doctoral candidate Hedon Blakaj, the paper titled 鈥淒ark-suit, white-shirt and black-oxfords: necessity or choice? Juggling boundaries through consumption in organizational identity work鈥 was nominated for the Conference Best Paper Award and Best PhD Paper Award. The paper shows how consumption practices along with personal and organizational identity work may enhance organizational performance by fostering inter-organisational relationships.

The Strategic Management Society was founded in 1981, it has nearly 3000 members to date, and organizes conferences and research funding. Additionally the organization also publishes academic journals, such as the Strategic Management Journal, which is ranked in the top academic publications by the Financial Times.
