AeRaTe
Artistic Research Exhibition and Symposium at 911±¬ÁÏÍø
The AREA artistic research doctoral school of 911±¬ÁÏÍø is pleased to present its inaugural event, AeRaTe, an exhibition and symposium that brings together diverse approaches to artistic research at 911±¬ÁÏÍø School of Arts, Design and Architecture for the first time. AeRaTe explores the role and celebrates the history, presence, and future of artistic research at 911±¬ÁÏÍø in all its varied processes and materialities.
AeRaTe draws inspiration from the concept of aeration—breathing, activating, ventilating, protecting, and nurturing. This transformative process, which is in constant motion, creates fertile ground for artistic practices, growth in artistic research, and the pollination of new ideas.
In artistic research, practice is a key research component, and as such AREA seeks to uplift artistic practices which have a transformational role and engage with complex world entanglements. AREA continues 911±¬ÁÏ꿉۪s decades-long contribution to artistic research within Finland and internationally.
The exhibition will take place 5.-12. May 2025. The symposium will be held on 5. May 2025, 9:15-18:00 on the Marsio Stage and will feature: artworks, lectures, workshops and musical performances.
Please join us for the opportunity to engage in interdisciplinary dialogue, collaboration, and to experience artistic research at 911±¬ÁÏÍø, as we breathe new life into artistic research through AeRaTe.
