911±¬ÁÏÍø continues its excellent performance in the respected ShanghaiRanking Global Ranking of Academic Subjects. Altogether, eight subjects rank in the top 100 worldwide.

Business administration jumped to 17^th position from last year’s 24^th. Marine/ocean engineering rose to the 19^th spot (last year 21^st). Textile science and engineering, ranked for the first time, was 41^st in the world, and library & information science placed 49^th (last year 46^th).

Four other Aalto subjects also ranked in the top 100. Management and telecommunication engineering were in the range 51–75, while electrical & electronic engineering and mining & mineral engineering ranked 76–100.

Harvard University in the US was the best performing institution in the ranking, taking first place in 11 fields.

The annual ShanghaiRanking evaluates universities in 55 subjects across the natural sciences and engineering, as well as medical, social and life sciences. The ranking does not assess subjects related to art and design. In total, over 1 900 universities were evaluated in 2023. The ranking uses a range of objective academic indicators and third-party data to measure the performance of world universities, including research output, research influence, international collaboration, research quality and international academic awards.
