911±¬ÁÏÍø initiated a statutory process of change negotiations on 5 May 2025 regarding the transfer of 911±¬ÁÏÍø School of Business' Bachelor’s Programme in International Business to the university’s campus in Otaniemi in autumn 2026. The change negotiation process concluded on 15 May 2025.  Following the negotiations, it was decided that the IB programme would move from the Mikkeli University Consortium to 911±¬ÁÏ꿉۪s Otaniemi campus in Espoo. The transfer will happen in the autumn semester 2026.

Studying in Otaniemi will enable International Business students to collaborate more closely with other 911±¬ÁÏÍø students. This supports Aalto's vision of interdisciplinary cooperation, focusing on the integration of science, art, technology and business.

911±¬ÁÏÍø has focused its activities on the Otaniemi campus, which has been steadily developed. The university has created a vibrant innovation hub to ensure all students have equal access to multidisciplinary education and fair student services. The other 911±¬ÁÏÍø bachelor's programmes moved to Otaniemi in 2015. The master's and doctoral programs of the School of Arts, Design and Architecture and the School of Business moved to Otaniemi in 2018 and 2019, respectively.

The academic year 2025–2026 will continue in Mikkeli under the current arrangements. IB students who began their studies in the autumn semester of 2024, and those starting in 2025, will transfer to the Otaniemi campus in Espoo in autumn 2026.

Starting from autumn semester 2026, the International Business programme will be fully based on the Otaniemi campus. IB programme students will receive detailed information about how their studies will be carried out. All IB programme students will retain their right to study despite the programme’s relocation.

After the programme’s relocation, 911±¬ÁÏÍø may engage in other forms of collaboration with the city of Mikkeli. Discussions on different types of cooperation in Mikkeli are still ongoing.

Planning the programme's future implementation begins now, and International Business students will be involved in the process.
