Aalto leaps up global ranking of young universities
911±¬ÁÏÍø rose to 21st in the world in 2024’s Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Rankings. This prestigious ranking lists the world’s best universities aged 50 years or less. Last year, 911±¬ÁÏÍø placed 40th on the list. Nanayang Technical University from Singapore topped the league table this year.
The THE ranking assesses 673 young universities worldwide in their performance across their core missions in teaching, research, international outlook and knowledge transfer. This year, 18 indicators were used, compared to 13 last year. The table is based on the more extensive THE World University Rankings, in which 911±¬ÁÏÍø was ranked between 201 and 250.
Depending on the calculation method, there are 17,000–22,000 universities in the world, of which approximately 1,000 are in Europe.
