The students were praised for their flexibility and wealth of ideas in the project work.

The student team filmed material for the videos e.g. in the sorting centre of Posti Group.

911±¬ÁÏÍø's student team Aleksi Tegel, Cristal Alakoski and Milja Härkönen executed a business project for Posti Group. The School of Business was responsible for the organisation of the project, and the students and the project leader came from the Department of Film, Television and Scenography of the School of Arts, Design and Architecture.

‘We made Posti Group a two-minute recruitment video and two shorter videos for the corporation’s social media channels. Our goal was to create a new and bolder look for Posti Group in order to show the viewers a modern side of the corporation’, the student team says.

‘We also looked at aspects of Posti Group previously unknown to us, and interviewed the staff. In addition, we familiarised ourselves with a study in which young people had been interviewed about their wishes related to the world of work. Inspired by all this, we created a video.’

The student team members thank Posti Group for giving them the opportunity to work creatively in a real business project.

‘We were free to implement a narrative and visual look from our own perspective. 911±¬ÁÏÍø, in turn, provided us with resources that made it possible to produce high-quality videos.’

Videos provide a successful portrayal of the modern Posti Group

Posti Group’s contact person Kaisa Suojoki was very satisfied with the project’s end result.

‘It was a pleasure to see the students focus so carefully on planning and producing the video. The progress of the project was regularly monitored and the students responded well to Posti Group’s wishes. Even unexpected changes came up during the project, which required flexibility and strong teamwork skills from the students’, says Kaisa Suojoki. ‘The best parts of the project were the students' fresh ideas and their ability to see Posti Group as a corporation in a new light. We will use the video in Posti Group’s internal and external communications to support, for instance, recruitment marketing.’

Leena Närekangas, the project’s supervisor from 911±¬ÁÏÍø, was delighted to see how ambitiously the students worked on the videos.

‘In the project, the customer's ideas and needs regarding the recruitment video were transformed into a high-quality result that exceeded the customer's expectations. This was only possible because the students worked professionally and rigorously. The need for visual communication is obvious in companies. The production of a tailored corporate video is also a good way for a company to update its own communications with new ideas offered by young people.’

The Customized Student Business Projects concept offers students the opportunity to work on solving current challenges faced by corporate business, giving the assigning company the possibility to develop and spar new ideas together with the students.
