Microwave has played an important role in different fields, one of the most noticeable examples is the operation of qubit. Usually, the microwave tone is generated by a commercial microwave source that operates at room temperature, and then carefully filtered and attenuated before it reaches the device such as qubit. With the ever-growing complexity of the quantum system, the management of the microwave tone becomes one of the leading factors that restrict the scalability of the system. An on-chip microwave is therefore highly demanded. In this talk, I will present the latest results about the on-chip microwave source consisting of a Josephson junction and spiral resonator, developed as a joint effort of QCD group and VTT. The microwave source can generate a coherent signal with an amplitude at least an order larger compared to previous reports. Lasing behavior is observed with injection locking.
