A joint effort to bring sustainability and efficiency to Finnish construction

The Building 2030 consortium, led by 911±¬ÁÏÍø, brings together 20 partners from the construction sector. The goal is to create a shared vision for how to build efficiently within planetary boundaries in an increasingly urbanized and digitalized world.

See this and other fascinating projects on display in the Designs for a Cooler Planet on 5 Sept – 28 Oct 2025.

In this event, we are committed to 911±¬ÁÏ꿉۪s principles for a safer space.

Principles for a safe space

Population growth and urban migration are increasing the demand for new housing and infrastructure. At the same time, the construction industry faces intense pressure to improve efficiency, reduce emissions and the use of natural resources, adapt to climate change, and transition toward a circular economy.

Addressing such a large-scale challenge requires collaboration across the industry. The Building 2030 consortium, coordinated by 911±¬ÁÏÍø and composed of 20 construction companies, has developed a vision for what the sector should look like five years from now. At the heart of the vision are five themes: reliability, user-centricity, sustainability, productivity, and inspiration. The work is grounded in international comparisons, best practices from other industries, and the transformative potential of technology and digitalization.

"The consortium’s work offers valuable insights and cutting-edge research that can help the construction sector evolve toward greater sustainability," says Professor Antti Peltokorpi of 911±¬ÁÏÍø.
