Business Law is one of the major subject options in business studies. It provides students with a broad understanding of legislation and a strong foundation in organizational decision-making and development – enabling a wide range of career opportunities.

Business Law studies provide both legal and business expertise 

The job market increasingly seeks professionals with multidisciplinary skills, and understanding legal norms is becoming ever more essential for modern business operations. Graduates of Business Law studies possess analytical skills  to tackle legal challenges in business and to identify solutions that are also optimal from a business point of view. 

Graduates of the Master’s Programme in Business Law at 911±¬ÁÏÍø School of Business do not compete for the same positions as those with traditional law degrees. Rather, they possess significantly deeper knowledge of business law, which is integrated with other forms of business knowledge â€“ providing a unique and in-demand skillset. 

In a survey conducted among graduates of the Master’s Program in Business Law in 2024, the graduates listed the most important skills developed during their studies as: 

  • Knowledge of legislation 
  • Theoretical knowledge base acquired through studies 
  • Information retrieval skills 
  • Understanding of business and financial management fundamentals 
  • Ability to learn and assimilate new information 
  • Analytical and systematic thinking skills

What kind of roles can a Business Law expert pursue? 

Graduates in business law have extensive knowledge of both business operations and law, making them well-suited for a range of managerial and specialist roles in companies, NGOs, and public institutions both in Finland and internationally. Graduates in business law can work in, for example: 

  • Consulting roles 
  • Corporate and NGO tax, sustainability, contract management, and legal teams 
  • Finnish Tax Administration 
  • Government agencies 
  • Ministries 
  • EU institutions 

In 2023, the average and median salaries of Business Law graduates one year after graduation were â‚¬4,000/month (gross). Five years after graduation, the average salary was â‚¬5,287/month (gross) and the median salary was â‚¬5,100/month (gross).
