MoU with 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs)​

​The MoU involves all 11 Finnish Technical Universities and applies to all Aalto Schools for general collaboration across all fields. It is not legally or financially binding, but activities involving financial or human resources, such as student exchanges, require specific agreements between institutions. The MoU serves as a 'door opener' for formalizing partnerships and participation in national funding schemes. A separate MoU with any of the IITs is not required for any activity. The MoU was signed in 2014, renewed in 2021 and expires in 2026. This will be renewed for 2027-2032. Aalto and IIT Bombay are the coordinators for the MoU and the network of IITs and Finnish Universities.​

MoU with Indian Institute of Science (IISc)​

​The MoU involves all 10 Finnish Technical Universities (excluding University of Eastern Finland) and applies to all Aalto Schools for general collaboration across all fields. It is not legally or financially binding, but activities involving financial or human resources, such as student exchanges, require specific agreements between institutions. The MoU serves as a 'door opener' for formalizing partnerships and participation in national funding schemes. The MoU was signed in 2024 valid until 2029. Aalto and IISc are the coordinators for the MoU. ​

MoU with Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) ​

​Applicable for all the four TECH schools of Aalto. This MoU will be the first step for making student exchange or other agreements with MAHE Institutions across India. The MoU was signed in 2026 and valid until 2031.​
