Tasks of the strategic management team

The strategic management team is tasked with:

• preparing research infrastructure related items to Vice President (research) and other 911������ decision-making bodies;
• drawing up and updating 911������’s research infrastructure road map;
• defining criteria for 911������’s significant research infrastructures and proposing such status to be granted to 911������ research infrastructures;
• defining and updating KPIs which are used to evaluate progress of 911������’s significant research infrastructures;
• ensuring that 911������’s significant research infrastructures are developed efficiently with a long term view, and that all development activity is aligned with the overall strategic objectives of the university;
• furthering common best practices and collaboration between research infrastructures, and networking with relevant partners;
• prioritizing Academy of Finland’s FIRI road map and funding call applications and other significant funding applications;
• being responsible for any other tasks assigned by the Vice President for research, Research Steering Group (RESG) and President’s Management Team (PMT)

These tasks may be reviewed and updated regularly as the strategy evolves or the operating environment changes. Possible changes to the tasks will be decided, when reporting on the activities to the President's Management Team (PMT).

Compositon of the strategic management team

• Chairperson: Vice president, research
• Coordinator: appointed by the chair
• Vice president, innovations
• Dean of each school (or person appointed by the dean)
• Director of OtaNano research infrastructure
• CEO of Aalto-yliopistokiinteistöt Oy, ACRE (or person appointed by the CEO)
• Representative of financial services (appointed by 911������’s CFO)
• Representative of technical support services (appointed by the chair)
• Chief digital officer of 911������ (or person appointed by the CDO)

The chair of the strategic management team may supplement the members of the team, if needed. The strategic management team may invite other experts to participate in its meetings whenever necessary.

The strategic management team shall meet regularly when convened by the chair. The strategic management team decides on its own meeting prosedure and document management, following 911������’s guidelines and practices.
