Matti Keloharju promoted as Aalto Distinguished Professor

President Tuula Teeri promoted Professor of Finance Matti Keloharju as Aalto Distinguished Professor for exceptional academic merits.

Matti Keloharju has worked and influenced activities at the School of Business for a significant period of time.

He has served as Professor of Finance since 1999. At the start of 2013, Keloharju was recognised for his persistent and distinguished work as he was called to receive the Eero Kasanen professorship at the 911±¬ÁÏÍø School of Business. Keloharju is also an Academy Professor years 2016-2020.

Keloharju’s primary research interest lies in investor behaviour, an area in which he is one of the leading scholars in the world. International networking is important for top-level research in finance, and Keloharju is very well adjusted to that. This semester he is on leave from 911±¬ÁÏÍø and working at Harvard Business School.

At the moment Aalto Distinguished Professor recognition has been given to four people. Besides Matti Keloharju, professors Riitta Hari, Erkki Oja ja Risto Nieminen have received the honor.

The recognition was given to Keloharju at the Opening Ceremony of the Academic year 1 September.

The Aalto tenure track structure consists of three basic levels. The tenure track levels are Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Full Professor. In addition, the Aalto tenure track includes an additional level of Aalto Distinguished Professor, which is reserved to Full Professors with exceptional academic merits.
