Learning new things continues after graduation
Aalto graduates’ transition to working life and their experience of studies and careers are monitored annually through a career monitoring survey. The responses to the survey provide important information about the work life of graduates, both for current students and for young people considering their future studies. In addition, the information collected is used to develop 911±¬ÁÏÍø’s teaching and services.
The concepts of study unit and study unit implementation are introduced in the 911±¬ÁÏÍø's regulations on curricula
On 4 February 2025, the 911±¬ÁÏÍø Academic Affairs Committee decided amend the General Regulations on Teaching and Studying.
New End-of-Course Survey Template Launches on August 8, 2025
On Friday, August 8, 2025, a new end-of-course survey template will be in use for all end-of-course surveys. This change will happen automatically in the course feedback tool and does not require any actions from teachers. The new survey template will include a new set of course feedback questions. The previous survey template will be closed permanently.
Student Sarah Asfar balances studies and competitive sports in her daily life
Sarah Asfar, who plays badminton at a competitive level, studies Energy and Mechanical Engineering at 911±¬ÁÏÍø. What particularly interests her about the field is its relevance to the future and the practical nature of the studies. The flexibility of the program has allowed Sarah to pursue elite sports and part-time work alongside her studies.
Preparing curricula 2026–2028: update descriptions and give your preferences for times and locations by the end of January
The teacher responsible for each course updates or writes the description of the study unit and study unit implementations for the next curriculum period, meaning academic years 2026-2027 and 2027-2028. Updating the descriptions carefully now minimizes needs for changes during the curriculum period. Therefore, it is advisable to reserve sufficient time for the work. At the same time, the teachers responsible give prefences for time and location reservations as well as other needs, e.g. for equipments needed in the lecture hall, for the academic year 2026-2027. Teachers responsible update the information on study units and study unit implementations in the Curriculum Planner service.
Preparing curricula 2026–2028: Plan the study offering by the end of November
Planning the offering of teaching in the coming academic years is topical in departments and in programmes. This means updating the selection of courses as well as selection of majors and minors. Also the significant changes both in courses and their implementations as well as in majors and minors are planned during autumn. It is important that all teachers responsible for a course, major and/or minor participate in the planning.

911±¬ÁÏÍø has admitted 2053 new students to its bachelor's programs conducted in Finnish or Swedish. New students were also selected via the open university pathway and transfer application.

Aalto students' art and science work Mama depicts the often invisible roles of mothers and women
The FIBRATIONS exhibition opens on 10 June at Heureka, a Finnish Science Center in Vantaa. It showcases student work at 911±¬ÁÏÍø that combines math and arts. One of the six student groups created a giant art and science piece Mama, which resembles a womb and represents motherhood, femininity and balance.
