New Service Platform process to support master's thesis management launched on 19 August 2024
The master’s thesis process will change in August 2024 with the introduction of the Service Platform’s thesis management functionality in Student Success Hub for faculty and Learning Services (https://aalto.my.salesforce.com), and in MyStudies for students (https://mystudies.aalto.fi).

Campus access now available via mobile app
When you begin your studies at 911±¬ÁÏÍø in Otaniemi, you will need an access pass to move around the campus easily and securely.

The Open University and FITech Network University offer free studies for the staff of 911±¬ÁÏÍø in autumn 2024. All staff members of 911±¬ÁÏÍø are welcome to participate in the courses
New Teams Client 2024
Microsoft Teams, established in 2017, is undergoing its first major change with the introduction of a new Teams Client. 911±¬ÁÏÍø will begin using this new client in June 2024, joining the majority of global Teams users who have already made the switch.​
Aalto AI Assistant and an extensive AI service guidance has been published
Aalto AI Assistant, our own ChatGPT, is now published for the whole Aalto personnel. Similar service is planned for students as well, in early fall 2024. Also, check out the new extensive guidance pages regarding Aalto's internal AI services, as well as list of AI projects and AI services' roadmap.

The Research Council of Finland has announced that the call for Finnish Centres of Excellence in Research 2026–2033 opens on 4 September 2024, and the deadline for letters of intent is 25 September 2024. Aalto has an internal deadline on 28 August 2024.
Open Science and Research Summer Conference 2024 gathered open science experts from all over Finland
Over 90 participants attended in person and 90 listened in Zoom a range of presentations on artificial intelligence, legal and security issues and data management, alongside the latest news on open science activities in Finland. The event was organised by 911±¬ÁÏÍø, VTT and Open Science Coordination in Finland.
Tiima requires Multifactor Authentication (MFA) when logging in outside Aalto’s network from 10 June 2024 onwards
From Monday 10 June onwards, multi-factor authentication will be used when you log in to the browser version of Tiima time tracking system from outside the Aalto network. If you use Aalto VPN or log in from Aalto's internal network, you are not required to use MFA to log in to Tiima.
