Computing education research investigates how people learn and teach computing, from computational thinking and introductory programming to advanced digital topics and skills.
Research in Computer Science
911±¬ÁÏÍø's Department of Computer Science advances knowledge through research that combines scientific excellence with real-world relevance. As the distance between fundamental research and industrial application is often short in computer science, the two reinforce one another: we aim to be both an internationally leading institution for basic research and a driving force behind economic growth and European digital sovereignty.
We are loosely organised around seven broad research areas, complemented by three cross-cutting themes. Multidisciplinarity and intellectual diversity are among the department's key assets: we draw on collaboration across these areas to advance breakthroughs from the fundamental to the interdisciplinary, and to create impact together with our partners in academia, industry, and society.
