Centre of Excellence in Computational Nanoscience: COMP

COMP (2012-2017) was the Academy of Finland's in Computational Nanoscience research. COMP consisted of eleven different research groups working on condensed matter and material physics. Our Centre spanned two departments at 911±¬ÁÏÍø – the Department of Applied Physics and the Department of Chemistry – and included the Department of Physics at Tampere University of Technology.

About COMP

Eleven research groups at COMP (2012-2017) combined a variety of approaches and disciplines that focused on researching and understanding structures and systems at the atomic and molecular levels from a material physics perspective. This fascinating field comprises a rich variety of phenomena that constantly brings up surprises in the shape of new discoveries.
